How will my gift be used?

Contributions to our local United Way provide services such as shelter, domestic violence intervention, crisis counseling, education, food, medical care, disaster relief, child care comfort, and more. In 2005, more than 100,000 Mid-Missourians were served by our local United Way agencies.

View the 2005 Beneficiaries Summary for more information about Mid-Missouri agencies supported by the United Way and how many Mid-Missourians they serve.

United Way is accountable to you.
Funds generated by our community remain in the Mid-Missouri area.

  • Our experienced local volunteers make our United Way decisions and monitor agencies to make sure donations are wisely spent.
  • Volunteers keep costs low and standards high — 88 cents of every dollar helps those in need.
  • United Way doubles the value of your gift through matching funds, economic impact and volunteer time.
  • Donor designations are honored. You can tell United Way how to allocate your donation — by United Way agency or by impact area.
  • You can have long-term impact in the community by including a gift to United Way in your will.

Audrian County (1,579); Cooper County (4,808); Cole County (6,186); Howard County (1,728); Boone County (96,266); Callaway County (2,484); Randolph County (2,070).

In the meantime, consider the following when planning your gift to the United Way:

  • United Way makes a visible impact in our community.
  • Funds raised in the community remain in the community.
  • Through United Way you can help people who really need help.
  • United Way ensures that contributions are well spent.
