the Columbia Area United Way
The
Columbia Area United Way mission is to improve lives and foster
human dignity by mobilizing and coordinating the caring power
of community resources in Mid-Missouri. The Columbia Area United
Way has three main goals:
Building Strong Families — Supporting families in overcoming problems so they enjoy productive fulfilling lives. See agencies supporting this goal in Mid-Missouri.
Helping Kids Succeed — Assuring that our young people grow up ready to achieve their fullest potential. See agencies supporting this goal in Mid-Missouri.
Promoting Health & Independence — Assisting those who need employment, transportation, health care, and other services that promote self-sufficiency. See agencies supporting this goal in Mid-Missouri.
Building a Better Community
One child at a time, One family at a time,
One day at a time...
The United Way helps build a strong community.
United Way participates in a number of collaborative partnerships
that bring members of our community together. Our goal
is to deliver organized and effective human services. A
leader in assessing local needs, our organization develops
solutions to community problems and leads the organization
of United Way Days of Caring.
Volunteers and service providers work with the city, state
and county governments, schools, the business community,
and other agencies to provide quality human services inside
homes, schools, churches and service agencies.
A single fundraising
effort helps more than 100,000 people in Mid-Missouri.
Donors and service providers are served with one efficient,
effective campaign. This minimizes fundraising costs and raised
more than $2.866 million in resources in 2005.
